The last three tracks I recorded for my forthcoming Sligo album, which will be released later this fall on Not Yet Remembered Records, featured field recordings taken in the same spot in the woods near my house at three different times of day, the motivation being to see what different sounds the woods has to offer at different times of day. The album closes with the track "Woods (Dawn)", which was the recording I took in the early morning at that spot in the woods.

While I was recording "Woods (Dawn)", a young buck (seen in the album art for this track) approached me. I took the deer approaching me as a good sign for my album, but now that I look back on it, I also view this encounter as a good sign for my music going forward. Sparked by my work with Outputmessage in Smoke & Tea, I now feel very creative musically speaking, which wasn't the case for the 5+ years prior to Smoke & Tea. I closed the Sligo album with "Woods (Dawn)" to mark a new chapter in my music.

As you will hear in my forthcoming Sligo album, I am now comfortable composing melodically inclined ambient music. With this track, "Carry On," I carry on with the melodic and atmospheric elements that you'll hear in my Sligo album, but I also incorporate drums into my music. Inspired by IDM artists such as Microlith, I'm looking to this sound for this next chapter in my music. I hope you like what you hear!
